Urban Art Expo, part 2

Continuing with what happened in the exhibition of independent art and urban Guatemala, which was held last Saturday ...

After observing the pieces in the exhibition and to be talking to Woset, would have also told me that graffiti "live" and that would be painting on the panels that had already mentioned before, where every visitor that came apart and is in the graffiti world could make his mark, and proceeded to leave my : D I was surprised to see how many people had already tagged and see who also walked out there, "Sonar", who has been devoted lately to leave his tag all over the city (All City) and then had to wait a few hours to arrive to paint.

I do not remember what times were when they decided to start painting and took the paint used and appeared Zame, who I'm wrong but has over a decade painting and began painting on panels and Zame in plastic, since the owners of the site not allowed to paint on the walls.

Who painted the panels were: Zoada aka Davico, Just Ink, Tosk, WP and Woser Woset aka One, what I liked most was how quickly that Zame pinto, a part of that something had to go so fast he did something really small but leave with their mouths open to all, remember that Woset quipped: "... when I grow up I want to be like Zame ...."

What I paint Zame was a character Maya nose if it is Tecun Uman, but I'm impressive Zoada who painted the character was bearded and some said that it was a self-portrait, part of wildstyle also be wonderful stay, WP was the one who painted a fungus, but I think it lacks even since it was a bit "dirty" Tosk only paint a few arrows while Just Ink also painted some letters, but not understood him to say and only paint Woset W.

These are the pictures of graffiti and it was a great experience to see live and paint the best representatives of graffiti in Guatemala, please click on the thumbnails to see full size.

Urban Art Expo, Part 1

Last Saturday, December 2, 2006, was carried out by the Independent Art Show Urban Guatemala, in the Cultural District 4 degrees north, which was attended by several of the best examples of urban art in the country.

I arrived on the scene at about 3:30 PM along with iemz , ready to see everything they had prepared for this activity among the artists who participated and stressed that more members are Guareguare graphic studio, Tosk of NSK, the WP (weed powa), Just Frankenstein's Ink Tattoo and many more.

Something that surprised me is that addressed many areas of street art, stickers, modifications, stencils, sketches, digital design, including toys : D if I'm wrong but the toy was not clay but remained quality and originality, all the pieces were the best, but I'm most pleased montana cans were painted by Guareguare and Tattoo Frankesteinn character.

After observing all the pieces displayed in the exhibition, I started taking a few pictures and then appeared the Woser Woset aka One, with whom I began to talk of the post for which I contacted and exposure as well as other painted that were participating this weekend and which also makes a post, then it also proceeded to leave my mark on the expo and they had a tagger and painted panels, of this I speak in the second half and at the moment I leave you with some photos of the expo.

Guatemalan street art, new section

For some time already had the anxiety of opening a new section covering what is urban art in Guatemala, because although many do not believe in Guatemala there are also urban artists.

For there someone always told me that because things did not publish the urban art of Guatemala and always said he was going to do but in time, now that I have several days off because I'm away I can.

In this first issue I want to introduce you to: GuateGraff, a fully Guatemalan crew, who lately have become quite famous in the local street art scene, his pieces ranging from legal to illegal, as they have paint in places like: La Bodeguita Center at the University of San Carlos de Guatemala, and especially in zone 1 capital.

The members of GuateGraff are Zame, Woser and Dhere, who also belong to other crews in the country, and are of the most prominent lately, especially now that they have been doing several Throw-ups in zone 1, with Sime.

In the photos we can see the pieces of a back to back they did in the old post office building located in Zone 1, on the terrace of the same, with which reflect a little of the history of the place and country, and while mixing styles, and 3D wildstyles this time, so you know can go to the post to see about this excellent mural at no cost.

If you also have graphic material of this nature can mail them to me and their work will be published on the blog, no matter if they are pieces Throw-ups, stencils, stickers, posters, anything is accepted, just send Recall of who is the author of the same or whether they are anonymous pieces, as well as the location of where they are; the work and information should be sent to: rickbizknot@gmail.com
